SEO On Page Optimization

On-page optimization is used to optimizing each web page, for getting higher rank in search engine results. Web page optimization can be done in two parts,

Head part :

includes titles, meta tags, meta descriptions.

Body part :

includes H1 to H6, contents, images,internal linking.

on page optimization

Head Part

Title Tag

Title tag is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. Title tag is a search engine result page. The title page of a web page is meant to be an accurate and concise.

html headlines

Code Sample :

 <head>
<title>Example Title </title>
</head>

Title Length

It displays 50-60 characters of a  title tag. If you write your title under 60 characters google research  suggest that you can expect 90% of your titles to display properly.  There's no exact character limit, because characters can vary in width and Google's display titles max out (currently) at 600 pixels.

  • Snippet

A snippet is a result that Google shows to the user in the search results. Google shows the title in blue, the URL in green and a description of what the page is about. This is what we call the snippet.

Main things that should be include in our title tags are :

Keyword that we focused should be included in title.
Title should have a meaningful description.
Full capital letters are not allowed.
Character limitation should be between 55-60.
No spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
Unique title give  for each page.
Title should have minimum 3 words.
Title should be have 512 pixel width.
Impressive title give then CTR (click through rate) will increase.

If no title given, then Google shows probably H1 as the title. In case  H1 is not good then Google will take H2 as title.

Meta Description

Meta Descriptions are html attributes that provide summaries of web pages. There are between one sentence to  short paragraph.

In HTML, the code for the Meta descriptions tag looks like this:

  <meta name="description" content="Write the description.">

Meta Description Length

Meta descriptions can be any length, but Google generally truncates snippets ~300 characters. It's best to keep meta descriptions long enough that they're sufficiently descriptive, so we recommend descriptions between 50–300 characters. Optimal length will change on situation.

Main things that should be include in our meta descriptions tags are :
• For a page, Character limitation between 155-160
• For a post, Character limitation is 155 because it needs to insert post publishing date.
• No spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
• Unique meta descriptions give  for each page
• Meta descriptions should be have 1024  pixel width

If no Meta descriptions given, then Google will take some highlighting contents from web page. If webpage don’t contain much content, then Google will take links, text etc…

  •  Meta robots tag
Meta robots tag is a tag that tells search engines what to follow and what not to follow. It’s a simple code that gives you the power to decide about what pages you want to hide from search crawlers and what pages you want them to index. Noydir, Noodp , Nofollow, Noindex, Noarchive   Meta robots tag code would look like this: <meta name =”robots” content=”index”>

Body Part

1. Header Tag

Is one of the main on page SEO techniques. This purpose of this post to make you understand how you can optimize Header tags in your post to improve search engine visibility. Header tags are nothing but headings in your post. If you see the HTML code of your post then you would find something like below-
<h1> your post title</h1>

2. Image optimization

Using images within your content is a great way to make our site up. Save the image using the keyword that we focused. And also alt tag is also used for image description.   Image relevancy is important when it comes to image optimization for SEO. An image of a train on a page related to Ferrari will do you no good. I know its common sense but this step is so important that I just can’t miss it out.    The Alt tag is probably the most important image optimization factor. Alt stands for alternate. The text in the alt tag is displayed in place of the image if the image can not be shown or is taking too long to load.  Most of the major search engines are text-based, i.e they can not read images and videos. The location of your images appears as an empty space to the search engines. These empty spaces are not in any way good for your overall SEO. The alt tag not only tells the search engines that there is an image placed here but also informs it about the topic of your image.  A good practice for the ALT tag is to keep your alt tags short but descriptive. Fill your alt tags with search engine friendly information but don’t try to go too far. For example, the alt tag for a picture of a birthday party should be something like this:  alt=”my son ronin second birthday party"

3. Keyword Optimization

Keyword optimization
(also known as keyword research) is the act of researching, analyzing and selecting the best keywords to target to drive qualified traffic from search engines to your website. Keyword search optimization is a critical step in initial stages of search engine marketing, for both paid and organic search. If you do a bad job at selecting your target keywords, all your subsequent efforts will be in vain. So it’s vital to get keyword optimization right.

But optimizing keywords isn't something you do only at the outset of a search marketing campaign. Ongoing keyword optimization is necessary to keep uncovering new keyword opportunities and to expand your reach into various keyword verticals. So keyword optimization isn't a set it and forget it process. By continuously performing keyword analysis and expanding your database of keywords, your site traffic, leads and sales will continue to grow.
4. Keyword Density
Keyword density tells you how often a search term  appears in a text in relation to the total number of words it contains. For example: if a keyword appears three times in a 100 word text the keyword density would be 3%. From the point of view of search engines, a high keyword density is a good indicator of search engine spam. If a keyword appears too often in a website, search engines will downgrade the website and it will then appear lower down in search result.
4.  Internal Linking
Internal Linking means, linking one page  with another page in our site.It gives a great chance to improve our site.In internal linking, try to use a keyword as the anchor text. The benefit of Internal links makes more audience to stay on our site.

5. Authorship Optimization

Authorship optimization or Editorial power is the way for article authors to connect with Google profile to their published content to create ownership. Through this process the advantage of author supremely good. When we makes an article and published to the internet before ensuring or verifying Authority, it is very important to the articles when crawling Google and visits the content readers. Authorship provides authority and validity to content readers. Authorship is only for single article not for website.for website we can use the relationship as “Publisher”.

Conclusion

With the correct on page optimization, webmasters can ensure their site is found by search engines. Unlike off-page optimization, successful on page optimization depends entirely on factors located within that particular site. These factors can be broadly divided into technical, content and structural issues. Site operators can use various tools to analyze pages and target the optimization of individual elements. On  page optimization is a sub-sector of SEO and an important means of increasing website traffic.
